Aloha guys

I ordered some Java moss three weeks ago through EBay for my fry tanks. I had read this plant was super invasive and grows at a crazy rate, and what I got was a little brown, but had plenty of green on it.

I am just worried it is going to die off, because it is slowly all sort of turning brown and drying up. There are some faint green fingers, but I am worried the plants are dying...

What can I do to help it het healthy?

Moss's are harder to grow than some may think. They also are grown out of water, they need time to adapt to there new conditions. This can take up to 5 weeks IME. Stick with it! :good:

Thanks guys!
The fishes I've had for a while, the live plants are new to me though! I had heard that the java moss is aggressive and will take over... And I wanted to get it going enough to do a moss wall (eventually) or at least to grow over some "not as pretty as they should be" corals I collected from the beach. I am still seeing some green so it hasn't died off all the way... I was just starting to worry from the brown and dead areas starting to vanish...

Thanks for the encouragement! Plants kinda intimidated me!

I'm from Hawaii... We find dead coral washed up on the beaches all the time. When one is interesting and gives my fish little places to explore I will wash it in fresh water and let it sit in the sun in the driveway for a week (to make sure there is nothing else in it) then I wash it again and place it in the tank.

I figure the coral, being somewhat poreous is a great way to colonize beneficial bacteria as well as looking interesting. I thought it would be a good aquascape element for my Mollie breeding tanks, to grow Java Moss all over it (so that not only would there be moss to hide in, but all manner of little nooks and crannies as well)

The Fry and the Kuhli loaches LOVE them... I just wish the moss was a bit more aggressive (I say that now, in a couple months I may be cheerfully attempting to do a wall with it! At least if what I have read everywhere on the net holds true anyway)
