I am so confused. Half my sources say java moss grows slow. Half says it grows fast. I don't know what to believe!

Maybe it's because they got moss that they mistook for java moss? I don't know. I don't have any pics but I have bought java moss before. The leaves looked slightly broader and larger than my teacher's more stringy and symmetrical leaved java moss. Or so he claims it is.

Both of them grow kinda slow. I dunno what I'm really doing wrong, because some people say they toss out bucketfuls... X_X Gee if only they gave all that to me.

So what do you guys do to make it grow fast? Water parameters you can tell me?

Its a slow grower, it can thicken up fast under high lighting, I had some floating on mesh in a low tech tank and because it was so close to the light it grew really thick and bushy in like 2 weeks but it doesn't spread very quickly.

Ah I see. And if it grows really thick and bushy I imagine it will spread if you cut it up and spread it out to grow... thanks :3 I'll try. I need a lot. I know people throw away bucketfuls but I'm not going to throw any away at all :3..... I love hoarding plants... to a reasonable extent.
