Hi folks,

I have just attached some java fern to my bog wood with some elastic bands, how long do you guys reckon it will take to root into the log?

Cheers chish

In a couple of weeks you should start to see the furry rhizomes grow and take hold but it can take a few months before they have a firm attachment. You may also lose quite a few leaves in the beginning. This is normal and the plant will make a comeback after some time.

Will they root into the rubber bands? SHould I be careful taking them off so they dont knacker the roots?

Hmm, I'm not sure, I've never used rubber bands to secure plants before. When you go to remove them, I'd probably snip them with scissors in several places and gently pull the rubber band off in pieces.

okidoke mate thanks for the info
