Whelp, did a little research into Java Ferns since I have one in my 2.5 betta/cory tank... and found that what is growing on the back of one of my leaves is a wittle baby. How excited am I?! :D Anyways, none of these sites helped me on how to actually take care of the lil guy. I would definitely like it to grow and be healthy so I can plant it in another of my tanks. The only that I read was that when they are big enough, the baby plant will unattach itself and float free. I'm wondering how large it has to be to do this? The same site also said you can pull them free if you want to - but I'm afraid of damaging it - also don't know how big it should be when I do this. Right now the leaf on the baby is only a half inch long. Awwww!! hehe... any help appreciated. Thanks!

just wait until the new plant gets to about 1" and it shoud have 2-4 leaver on it by then. they are quite easly seperated and should come away without ripping.

cut a leaf off and tie it to a piece of bogwood , all the length f the leaf needs to be tied down
you will then get lots of little new plants start growing from along this leaf
not the fastest growers but in a couple of months you will have lots of fern on the wood
