hi guys and girls,i was searchung ebay for a co2 diffuser and kept coming across pics of diffusers with japanese moss balls in them,!!??? does anyone know the reason for putting these moss balls in diffusers and atomisers, any info would be appreciated !! regards-Rebaka

I have never heard of this method, are you sure they are not just showing a pic of a Marimo ball?

 Moss balls in a diffuser! I know what you mean about moss ball adverts popping up everywhere but I'm pretty sure they're quite happy just sitting in the tank as per usual... I typed in CO2 moss ball diffuser and found nothing, if you could show us a picture then we could get round the confusion :good:

From doing a search on e-Bay for 'CO2 diffuser' I can see what you mean. There are a number of auctions titled:

Moss Ball x5-plant for co2 glass diffuser aquarium F17
Moss Ball x5-plant for co2 glass diffuser aquarium SU17
Moss Ball-live aquarium plant co2 diffuser fish tank O

Or things to that effect. The seller appears to be the same in all auctions (aquaticmagic) - it is a good seller of plants from Malaysia to be honest.

I think it is just a case of just putting key words in the description in order to get them to pop up in listings - I have never heard of using Marimo Balls in a diffuser, nor can I see any benefit!

Hi,thanx for replying and doing some googling for me,appreciated !!! and as for aquaticmagic, this is a very good plant outlet by the looks of their ebay store,i havnt used them yet but i just might do in the near future,i used to use a company called greenline aquatics, hey sent me a catalogue about 4 or 5 years ago and i was amazed at the range of plants they had,i purchased some frog bit, some duck weed some cabomba, and some indian fern and also some crypys and the plants arrived a the next day,the quality was amazing and the quantities were even better,i went onto their web page te other day and was quite disappointed, sadly the company has downsized along with their plant selection, they put this down to recent financial ressession and the cost off all the lighting they had to use, sadly this is a shame becuase this company were excellent.Anyway, have you purchasd anything from aquatic magic and if so what did you think of the plants when they arrived?
