Jack Dempsey New Tank Mates?

Hi everyone, I have a 60 gallon set up right now with a 7inch Male JD Cichlid, right now he is the only fish in the aquarium. I need some ideas on what fish to introduce into this new set up. My JD has got along fine with BR Parrots and poorly with an over agressive GT half hos size.

You could do a central American biotope with the jack Dempsey as the centrepiece of the tank.
You could add a pair of either Firemouths or ellioti cichlids and then some blind cave tetras as dither fish. Depending on dimensions you could also add some robust livebearers to add activity to the surface of the tank. Suitable candidates would be Ameca Splendens or a single pike livebearer.
