Jack And Black Belt

Hello , my name is Eric . I have a jack and a black belt . They seem to be getting very loving towards each other . Is it possible that they could breed ? That would just be to cool . Has anyone had this happen ? I would sure like some input on this topic . If anyone has information on this could you please email me at eric_roberts1969@hotmail.com . I'm new to this forum . So correct me whenever I'm wrong . .These fish are in a 55 gal . tank . Would also like to know some suitable tankmates . Thanks for your time . Eric Von Roberts .

Hi there welcome to the forum! How long has the tank been set up for?

Not sure if Veija and JD crosses are possible, but most central american fish can hybridise with each other. I hate to say this as well though but long term that tank isnt big enough for both fish, it would be big enough for the JD by him self with a few dithers like giant danios and plecs but the blackbelt will get a good 14 inches and very very thick and robust fish very strong.

How big are they at the moment? If they are under 6 inches I think they might work for now but once they get older and start to get to adult size and their sexual maturity happens you will have problems - to house these two for life your going to need 125-180 gallons and keep it in a central american aggressive cichlid tank.
