ive always wanted a 2nd little tank to try my hand at planted , and it looks like i may be able to pull it off on the sneaky :hey: i started today saying to the missus that im gonna sell my huge bit of bogwood and use the money to get a cheap little used 2 ft tank to sit on the floor in the corner beside the 100g to use as a fry tank for raising any malwai fry i get to sell on etc . she didnt flinch. now i was never intending to breed the malawis , so i continued to chip away . along the lines of well thinking about it , it would be best on a cabinet so the fish are used to people and dont grow up skittish etc etc . again no flinching. so i upped my game a bit .

net came , if i move the dvd/cd rack to the other end of the tank , i can set the little tank up in the corner next to the big tank , taking up no more room than the dvd rack etc. now comes the clever bit.............. and if breeding doesnt work out ( trust me it wont work out :hey: ) i can always turn it into a pretty little planted community tank .......FOR YOU DARLING!!!! ( she hates myh tank now its not community) again she didnt flinch!!!!

already got most of the equipment , ive got an eheim internal filter , 2 spare heaters , bogwood , playsand and a spare ballast , so would just need to get a tube , and find a cheap little tank , and hey presto ive "sneaked" a planted tank into the house!!!!!

mwuuhahahahaha !!!!!!!!!!

hope this thread never gets seen then

sh doesnt know my login details  also going to sell an eheim eternal ive got spare to help things along with the finance as its all gotta be done on the cheap/free . but im in no rush .

Slowly but surely is the way to do it!

Remember to bring stuff home in the middle of the night and tell her the stalk delivered it. ;)

* note : if my other half ever see's this thread in no way shape for or size do i danny condone markandhisfish behaviour towards sneaking large objects into his living space . and i for one shall not be taking part in this thread .

bad behaviour on is frowned upon

see thats how to handle women  its with gret reluctance that im selling the wood , its a beast of piece , beautiful too . easily 100 quid in a shop im willing to let it go for half of that if it gets me towards setting up a planted tank :good:

I prefer to have smaller pieces of wood stacked up rather than one big piece. Similar to how it is in my tank at the moment:

I can understand why people like one beast though... :D

well done Mark!

If i was you i'd go for some nano redmoor wood in a 60ltr, get some nice anubias and ferns :good:

its your fault mate!!! i just cant be drooling over your trigon island any more without getting on the horse as it were. tomorrow im going to do some pictures and get the bogwood and the eheim 2028 on fleabay , get them sold and i can start the ball rolling. going to be a bit of a slow burner tho i rekon as ive had hardly any work for the last couple of weeks so its going to have to be either dirt cheap or done bit by bit . but like i said ive already got most of the equipment .

but dont even have to pretend to try and breed the malawis now lol , ive even got the missus asking what fish can go in it :good:
