It's Not Working!

So, I'm trying to fishless cycle my 75 gallon tank, but somewhere along the way the ammonia stopped processing. The tank wasn't completely full- so I filled it all the way up. That didn't help. Today, I'm draining about 3/4 of the water, and I'll add more fresh water, see if that helps. My question is this- so I have to add dechlorinator to the water? Why isn't my bacteria growing?

Are you adding pure ammonia???

When you filled the tank the rest of the way, did you add dechlorinator to the water? If not, the chlorine could have killed any ammonia bacteria that were growing...

eh poo. yes, pure ammonia. i guess i'll go decholorinate what i just put in there i knew i did something wrong. also, it was only 1/4 i syphoned out. typo on my part.
