You need one with needle valve mate, here's both that I use.

Can a solenoid be used with either of the regulators you mentioned ps3steveo?
 
Do you need to do anything.different when running the.co2 24/7?

Just beware its sensitive turning up and down mate.
 
Regulator works a treat mate! like Steveo says, the valve is very sensitive when turning it up and down. But I will certainly purchasing another

I made up a clamp with a 6 inch arm on it to clamp round my valve to give more accuracy.

Maybe not as sophisticated as your DIY Clamp, but it did the job

Was running at 1.8 bps but 4dkh was still slightly blue so have upped it to 2.5 bps and monitoring this to see how it changes

Worthwile investment though !
