I don't know if i should be unduly worried, but my male dwarf has been spending alot of time hiding in the top corner of the tank...
Today i noticed bubbles along the top of the waterline, has i'm havent kept these before unsure whether he's building a bubble nest or wanting oxygen??

Before i changed the filter to an external he appeared quite active and would swim around,i must admit the flow is a bit strong,i turned down the flow on the outlet and have put floating silk plant in front of the flow to break it even more

The female doesn't mind and is now swimming around like the male use too.

He is eating, and has great fun catching the bloodworm from the turkey baster  he just doesn't appear to move from the same spot.

Is this normal?

By the way the stats are spot on ammonia/nitrite 0 ,i did have a nitrite spike on the small fluval i had in there, but since adding the external they have been zero :good:

Sorry its long winded, but i hope someone can help.
thanks in advance :good:

Sadly my blue male died ths morning...

Sorry to hear that. I was one of the 20 who'd looked but honestly I had no idea if it was normal or not, so I felt it was better to say nothing than to guess and get it wrong.

Sorry for your loss :(

Sorry to hear this, wish I'd read earlier, I've had similar problems with some A.Borellii and Rams recently  Had a Ram die today but they've stopped gasping for air now I've introduced an air pump  Sorry for you losses mate.

Sorry to hear about your loss. My old 3 spot gourami did the same and died a few dayslater. Don't blame yourself, there is probably little or nothing you could have done to save him. As long as your water stats are OK and other fish are healthy and acting normally, it's probably one of those inexplicble deaths we have all experienced.

Thanks all

I'm not use to losing fish, especially my gorgeous blue DG.

The female seems fine at the mo,stats spot on, so i may try to get another male tomorrow if they have any...

Went back to lfs and got another blue male, fingers crossed this one makes it,he's settling in atm, would be better if the female left him alone :/
