Okay we all know that Bettas are like popcorn can't have just 1 but how bout when they die are you guys sad too? When my wonderful little buddy dies I actually buried him and put a little cross near his grave And then cried? Haha is this normal? Anyway so I think that soon I'll go and pick out a new one Any funny stories you would like to share?

I've got one. I remember when I was 9 and I really really wanted a betta I was staring at one in the pet shop and I just decided to buy it! And a 5 gallon tank Anyway my mum was in woolworths doing the shopping and she's like what have you got there easier and I'm like mummy meet steel! Nd she's like Anyway she ended up really loving him then with icestorm who recently died I bought him when I was 11 and at the shops with my friends and I can home and I was like mum meet icestorm. De ja vu much

So I was at my dads office and was calling around for like an hour trying to find him some bloodworms cyz he deserved a treat. And I bought him a 40 litre tank. Hehe gonna miss that lil man. So share your funny stories ladies a d gents

When I was 4 or 5yrs old my brother and I had a Goldfish each that lived in a small angle iron tank that my father made (he was a sheet metal worker by trade) The tank stood on a coffee table in the hallway.

When my parents decorated the hallway they placed said coffee table and tank in the bathroom out of the way. a few days after starting the makeover my mother was sat on the loo when she noticed that the water was hazy and the fish were'nt moving at all, like they were in suspended animation, and next to the tank was an empty packet of powdered Polycell wallpaper paste !!!

I thought it was fish food !

When I was 12 me and my bff at the time were going through a fish-craze. Her sister had a 15 gal filled with guppies. We wanted fish too
So for her birthday I got her a very beautiful silver and purple Betta (I've never found another one like him) And we were cleaning his tank one day, and her Betta jumped out of the bowl we had him in. He ended up flopping across the counter and off of it and into the dog's water bowl We noticed him in there a few minutes later, he was totally fine


We always had a 3.5 gal on our kitchen counter with a Betta in it. The tanks never had filters or heaters - But I was young and my parents didn't read up. The Betta's usually lasted about 6 months. We had one at one point named Allan, he was red and my mom loved him because he would follow her around and flare up at her whenever she did the dishes (Not as funny a story, but she wasn't a fish person and she loved this fish)

Ahahahahahahahhaahha! Both stories had me laughing like a loon! Especially the one where the betta ended up I the water bowl

im not sure if it is funny much though

i started out buying a small 15G tank for my room/studio study, i got a few little mini fish that look like goldfish though there not, i cant remember what there called but i also got a red platy, called them Snow,Flake,Lust, well lust was for some reason picking on flake so i got another tank for snow and flake, a 40G though when i went in i saw this little blue guy sitting in with the goldfish, he had such pretty long fins i had to have him, i named him Rapunzel (his fins are longer then normal but he was young and i just got that tangled movie, name suited him) well i got him home and i put him in with the lust, sins i was told anything with a fan tail he would attack,
after a day or 2 Rapunzel had made a nest and was well, loving lust, followed lust around didnt attack or nip, just well rapped around her, i tried moving lust into another tank i had gotten, though i was cycling it, Rapunzel well lied on the bottom and would not come up for sometimes 4 or 5 min, nest had broken and all,
in the end i got Rapunzel a few girlfriends, well i thought they were at least, didnt know much of anything back then, they told me they were just small and were all female, at least 2 of them were male and 2 had died, i was pretty upset though, on the 2en lot, i thought i had lost Rapunzel coz he was on the floor hardly breathing, i took him out and put him into a glass of water from that tank, and he started to go belly up, i was pretty upset, i thought they had killed him, though i left him sit in there for about a hour, coz he was still breathing, then he swam down and started to swim around again, then i put him into a small healing tank and on top of the female tank so he would stay walm, came back to life fully,
few months down the track i got a few more females and some feeder barbs, now i didnt get the feeder barbs to feed anytihng, i thought they looked cute and they were so small i could get allot of them for a mid size tank,

a month into having them, my mum came home wile i was out, and had a panic attack coz Rapunzel had made a huge bubble nest and it was covering most of the tank, she thought it was mold or something so she ripped him out of the tank and put him in with the feeder barbs, not many know this but the feeder barbs are meet eaters and will pretty much kill anything if there are allot of them, i got home a hour after she put him in there, he was still swimming around but they were nipping at him allot, he had lost more then 90% of his tail, i put him back into a healing tank in the top of another tank, sat around for a long time, still dose though his grown back most of his fins now, there no were near as long as they were when i first got him,

i love the little guy though, i have had him now for more then a year, now going strong again but well looks sad,
the little platy i had next to his tank, they still looked at each other till the day lust died, it was so sad, i had gotten a free platy from a shop in town coz some kid smashed the glass of the tank, the little platy looked like it was going to live, but the guy that owned the shop could not sell her again coz he made the kids dad pay for the tank and all the fish, (that was kind of funny, though i felt sad for the fish that were killed)
well i got her home, she lived for a few months, but one day she died, lust shortly after, lust for some reason died a few days latter it looked to me that he had been looking for the other platy,
after that Rapunzel got upset again,

now i have Rapunzel in a 15G tank parted into 3 zones with 2 other little guys in it, there all happy but Rapunzel seems a little upset still,
sometimes i think his going to go soon, but the thought of that makes me cry.

i berry everyone of my fish that i have a attachment to, so anyone i have had for more then a month, lol i have pot plants all over the outside of my house now so i can take them with me when and if i move.
