Hi there I am new to having a molly as a fish. I got her yesterday and I noticed that she is bigger then the other fish and she is kind of a box shape. I looked it up and it says she is pregnant and I want to make sure. And if she is does anyone know when she would have her frys? She is also shaking for 3s or so but none of my other fish are shaking.

One reason for shaking in mollies is a condition called the shimmies. This occurs when they are kept in soft water. The reason I asked what the other fish were was in case this was a lone molly in a tankful of soft water fish.

How do I make the water not soft

To increase the general hardness (GH) of the water you need to add minerals like calcium and magnesium. The easiest way to do this is to buy a bag of African Rift Lake water conditioner from a pet shop or online. You use it at about 1/3 to 1/2 strength and it will increase the GH, KH and pH of the water.
