Got up this morning and saw what i thought was either a sea slug or cucumber climbing the glass! This is why i love marine! new things everyday! Anyway it was about 1/4 inch and brown in colour with a hairy back. Picture was impossible to take and just came out fuzzy just hoping someone can say if it is ok to be in there? Thanks.

Ok thanks everyone i thought that maybe the answer but whats the worst case if it is a bad sort? Eating corals? It was mainly purple if that helps? Thanks again.

Do not squish it with your hand, or squish it at all. It could be posinous and send you to hospital!

That thread is proof why not to do it!

I tend to treat all nudi's with suspicion unless it's been correctly ID'd.
Most nudi's will eat one thing, this may be pest nems, sponges, flatworms or corals.
The problem is that they don't eat much else besides the that one thing so if one eats hair algae it will not eat left overs in the tank, this is why so many sea slugs die of starvation.
Another thing to be aware of is most sea slugs are toxic (some are lethal) as they have the ability to process any toxins they consume and reuse them for defence, so if you wanna kill one don't squish it, suck it out with something and dispose of it safely.
