Is A Koralia 1 Too Powerful For A Nano?

I was disappointed with the stock pump from the aquapod 24G, so to add flow i added a koralia 1- 400 gph, but left in the stock pump 190 gph. basically, is this too much? the koralia is in the middle of the tank and it look pretty powerful. When I set it up, i did not realize there was a tiny feather duster in the "path" of the powerhead, and it blew off the crown....

I dont have any livestock in the tank yet ( apart with what came on the LR). I feel like something may get sucked in and destroyed.

that gives you about 25x water turn over, which is a pretty good place to start.

LOL, i just heard that some coral ( softies) dont do well with high water flow, because thats what I want in the tank. Thanks for your advice!

atm, i ahve 1 bangaqii cardinal and then a toadsttol leather, GSP, zoas and im soon to be getting a hammer/torch. I am thinking of getting either a clown, yellow watchman goby or a purple firefish for the final fish.

i would suggest you adding a hydor 2 for the tank then, toadstool will like the additional flow. I have a mj-600 with hydor spin attachment thing, and a koralia 2 for my 20 gallon reef.

Remember, many softies actually like a lot of flow, leathers and toadstools for example

But corals like xenia like as low a flow you can give them in the tank.

fish is something you most definately dont need to worry about with flow, the ocean is a lot more than just a small 25x flowrate. You could probably go up to 100x+ and the fish will be fine

My GSP sits about 10-15cm from the nozzel of the koralia nano and loves it. So much so that it won't come out if flow not that strong. IME (which is not that much) LOL
