Hey, I've got a 10 gallon tank with a Java fern in it.
I want to know how often I should fertilize my Java Fern with Plant Gro (iron).

I've done it when I put the plant in, I just did it after a water change... but I'm worried my plant won't get enough in the beginning... as it's still tied to a rock.
(I've only had the tank up and running for 9 days)
BTW - how fast does this plant fasten itself to a rock? :dunno:

IME, these plants don't need fertilization. Once they get started, they are pretty tough :)

I would fertilize the plants when they are first added, and if they seem to be doing poorly, add some more :)

I think the same. I add ferts (liquid stuff) once a fortnight like it says to on the container. And i have root tabs. But i would stick to any information provided for you on the packet. :)

From my experience, fertilizers are not necessary for a healthy plant. although. make sure they are well planted to the gravel because all my plants were sucked into the filter.
