I have two gold severums which I would love nothing more than to keep together. They're only young'uns, one around 3-4" and the other slightly smaller.

They have been introduced before and the larger one did some serious damage to the little ones fins. I separated them and focused on getting the little one better, but now that it's almost healed up again I'm getting that nagging urge to try them again.

So around 2-3 weeks on I've now fully rearranged the tank and I've got the larger one floating in a bag just to see how they interact from there for now.

But what else can I do to help this work if I can possibly do anything? I thought it would be easier with them being young! :S

its very hit and miss when trying to introduce sevs like you are trying to do . chances are that if 1 hated the other last time it will always be that way . just ask minxfishy the trouble she had trying to get harry to accept vinny . it just wasnt happening. you can try it again in a rearranged tank but dont be surprised if the outcome is the same .

You may find its is just a case of they just dont like each other. I now have Harry and Vinny, I managed to get a gold sev in with Vinny without any problems, they get on just great. But Harry hates both of them he is in the tank next to them so they can see each other. The only other suggestion is to take the larger one out for a week or 2 let the little one claim the tank then try adding the larger one. Vinny & seymour were put together on the same day in the tank they are in now from different tanks so organised themselves together.

This is what I have done and am now at the point of bringing them back together as I have said hence the thread :p

Add more large fish if you have the room. My Green severum and Parrot had full on wars. so I took them apart and then after I added my Uarus everyone gets along. The pecking order is more spread.

Adding more fish might not be an option but if you can it will help.
