I got what was labeled as an Inca snail about a week and a half ago.

This thing has piled on about an inch of shell along the front side since I got it. The new shell looks softer than the old shell, and it seems to be growing so fast that there are what almost look like stretch whitish marks running front to back in it - these may be like kinks in the shell or something.

Here is an illustration to show what I'm talking about. The green spotted part (I believe he lived in a tank with algae at one time), and the 1/2 inch of yellowish brown shell were there when we got it. The very pale and golden part in the front seems to be all new.

Is this normal? OR is something wrong here?

The insane growth continues! This guy is piling on shell fast!

Anyone knw if this is normal? I assume this snail is just really really happy with his diet. HE can polish off an algae wafer in about a minute flat.
