Ideas for 29 gallon community tank

My thinking is changing on how to stock my new 29 gallon (coming Sunday) is changing. I HAVE 5 smallish platies/variatus and like them. I have two tetras, one neon one black. To add:

2 loaches small to start (2" or so)
2 rainbows (red most likely) or dwarf cichlids (or rams)
6-8 phantom tetras to join my existing ones

That's about 30-31" of fish. I think I can handle that. AS platies bite it, I'll up the numbers of cichlids/rainbows....

Advice on types of pretty cichlids or rainbows that will go well with the platies and clowns and tetras??? I really want some red or deep blue if I can....

I've got a pair of Apistogramma Agassizi in my Juwel Rekord 95, great little fish!! Get 1 male and about 2 - 3 females if you can. Harem spawners. Females will only get little over 1.5", male approx 3". Great temperament as well.

Oz, my rainbows didn't like any other red fish. Drove them batty. Real pretty fish though. One of my favorites I have had good luck with is the pwder blue dwarf gouramies. They don't seem as aggresive as the larger ones.
