hi every one,
at the begining of last week my 2 young clown loaches got ich
unfortunetly i never got around to geting a hospital tank so
what ever treatment i used would have to be used in the tank
with my other fish none of which had it, i was worried about useing any treatments because i have a lot of plants in the
tank, and worried incase medications would kill them also
killing of the biofilters, then i read about turning up the temp,
to 85f ,this i did, none of the fish seemed to be distressed by
the extra heat,i left it for 48hrs then turned it back down.
the ich was gone ,they seem to be fine now, but i am still
a bit worried in case it returns. i am a big believer in water
changes, and do a 50% water change every week, so was
suprised when they got ich, has any one else ever used this
heat treatment successfuly, without it returning.or is the ich
just lurking around still.
thanks, slt
