 I posted the other day asking for help with Ich... everyone has been brilliant but unfortunatley I have had my first fatality.
One of my loaches was dead on the bottom of the tank this evening when I got home. :rip:

Now all of my neons have whitespots and it seems to be getting worse not better.
I have checked my stats and they are all good. My water temp is 30 and i am running an airstone. I have taken out all ornaments and used a gravel vac.

The treatment i am using is British King 5 white spot. I have been using this every other day as per instructions....should I increase it to every day??????
I am also doing water changes every other day.

What else can I do...I am desperate now....is this the beginning of the end?

Its hard i know coz the ws cant be killed until it drops off to multiply.... Its agonising to watch.

I AM NOW WONDERING IS THIS ICH??? COULD IT BE VELVET?

Best treatment I've found was recommended to me and it's Protozin made by waterlife. Treats ich, velvet and several other things. Remove the carbon from your tank and use it. Shifts it real quick. Well worth getting.
All the best for the other fish and sorry for your loss. :rip:
Hugs,
P.

Yes waterlife you can get in the uk i've used it and it's very good, though if you change meds you will have to do a water change and run some carbon for a few hours, good luck.

PM sent to you wilder...

also the loaches are all at the top...I know meds and heat reduce the co2 but would you expect them to do this????

Try a 30% first to see how they go, hurry.

Sorry I was away. Yes, as Wilder said, it is available in the UK. I'm only down the road in Cambridge from you.
Pick it up a.s.a.p and do the w/c tonight and put the carbon in until the morning too.
No the loaches should not be at the top. Certainly not because a med you've used! I'd turn the heat down. It reduces the amount of oxygen in the water with it high and can cause more stress then benefits in my opinion. I never raised the temp when I had a tank of ich. It still got sorted within a week with that med. :)
Hugs,
P.

Also, if the fish are at the top of the tank, try adding an airstone to increase the oxygen at the bottom of the tank. In addition, take some water out of yoru tank to create more ripples when the water re-enters from the filter.

It's been sorted out, he died. so R.I.P. little fellow.
