To sum it up you are best to get a few juveniles and let a pair form, then remove the remaining. Set them up with proper cover and nesting sites, feed them good food, keep the water pristine, and the fish will do the rest.

This Article is focusing on the 'slender' krib, but I've read through it and you can use it perfectly for the common krib. It's a bit of a read, but it's from one of the best sources on the web.
 
hmmm I just bought a male and female, female was smaller then male, and male picked on her so I went back took back small female and got the best looking female I could find that was bigger then my male took her home and in about 30 minutes had a pair, next morning they had a cave all set up, 3 weeks later and I have 30+ fry running eeer swimming around don't do anything special or feed anything special they just did it all for me lol :) best of luck
