I want a crab

I have a 7 gallon fresh water Office tank, and I want a crab. What and where would be the best, or am I way off and need to forget it?

I got a red claw crab but only see him very occasionally, think they must hide alot

Crabs do hide alot. They like brackish water and need access to air.

Crabs are awesome!!! I have mini crab called Kline. He has so much personality. He lives in almost completely fresh water and is able to get on top of the heater (although he's not supposed to). You have to be really careful about them getting out though. I have a friend and her crab got out 3 times before it ran away and was never seen again. My crab seems to like the tank because even though when he gets on top of the heater he can get out but he doesn't. My crab hides during the morning and afternoon and comes out in the evening and at night before I turn the lights off. He eats anything. So far he eats daphnia, bloodworms, flakes, wafers, peas, and cucumber. Crabs also clean up any dead plant material. I would highly recommend thme to anyone with a 5 gallon tank or bigger.
