I just picked up about 3 ghost shrimp today with 3 zebra danios also

Those little buggers love to eat the algae that accumulates from the sun. I think one or two got eaten by the guaramis already lol

How big are those gouramis? My dwarf gouramis didn't touch them, but it seems that yours are bigger...

These guys seem to eat anything, though. They eat shrimp pellets, flakes, algae discs, blood worms, brine shrimp, and even at times fecal matter. I doubt the last one is very savoury, though.

And about your sig... It seems a bit overstocked from my perspective, or rather, the fish aren't exactly compatible.

First off, what type of plecs?

Bettas are easy targets of fin nipping, and you seem to have a wide variety of fish that would live to do his finnage in (namely the tiger barbs).

Angel fish will get bigger if it isn't already as such.

How big are the gouramis?

Now yo have three danios, also fin nippers, and tetras that are being kept in twos and threes.

Just as long as there aren't any problems, this is fine, but just making sure you're careful...

I am having some algea problems for the first time(oddly enough right after i out in a second filter). its this brownish spotts and patches on top of my plastic plants.

think i shoud get some ghost shrimp or something? would they get along with my dwarf gaurami, black phantom tetras and my gold barbs?

Nope, those are diatoms. None of the animals that I have or have seen touch the stuff. you have a problem with phosphates or somehting.

Ask this q in beginner's questions and you should get a better answer...

Bamboo shrimp love diatoms. They're really cool, too. the species I am speaking of is Atyopsis moluccensis.

oh yea. I noticed I went wrong in so many directions with my 29g community. But they all live togeter, happily I might add. My betta puts the barbs in their place. If they try to nip him, then he whips around and nips them. The guaramis are about an inch and a half to two inches in my 10g and the older guaramis in my 29g are the same size. The angel is as big as he's going to get. He was my fist tropical fish and long ago i didn't know about this site and he had a 10g for a home with like 9 others. Once I upped to the 29g, still long before I knew about this site, I thought of many posibilities for fish at the lfs. The neons all lived great with the angel. He just left them alone. The worst thing thats ever happened in my tank due to uncompatable fish was when my crabs ate my one anels wife. That was basicly it.
