So I Gave in and Bought the Arrowana Homw with Me on Sunday.

It has Been there for 2 years, Longer than I originally Was Told. He has been in Every Tank they could think of Putting him in and He has Never Fed Properly Due to his TankMates.
This week they added Some very Aggressive Mouthbrooders to his tank. And that was it, I bagged him Up and Got him for a Very reasonable Price.

I am Not going to Keep him, He will Be Going to an Oddball Enthuasiast Who Has 2 6 foot Arrow's already. A Black and Gold. She has them Insured for Over £2000.00 Each I think.

He is Small Under 5 Inches. He has Been Exploring the Tank and has been fed Bloodworms and Pellets, which they have always fed him on.

2 years old and only 5 inches, i dont think so, arowana's are born at between 3 and 4 inches and grow rapidly, even if it was only fed once a week it would have grown more than 2 inches.

And id like to see these 6 foot arowana's, as being even the largest species tops out at 4 foot, if it were true a 6 foot gold would be insured for more like £200,000, 2 foot specimins can be worth £40,000! Blacks would never comand that kind of money even when full grown, only the Asian arowanas (Scleropages formosus) go for that kind of money.

At any rate, arowanas are awesome fish. I will have one one day in my dream 500 gal tank!!!! Good luck with him. The last arowana i had grew to 10" in about 4-5 months.

Oooops, Sorry Typo

Two 4 Ft's in an 8 ft tank.

Very much agreed, I'd doubt 4' to, the Silver Arowanas are quite capable of reaching that size but the Asain Arowanas (Scleropages formosus) are unlikely to reach that size and if so they would command a far far higher price then 2,000. I'd also like to see this 4' Black Arowana as I have never heard of a fish anywhere near this size in captivity, can you take some photos of this tank as it sounds like quite a sight. Make sure that your Arowana puts on some considerable size if it is going in that tank to....
