Before she graduated from high school in May, my sister mentioned she was thinking about getting a fish or few. I couldn't figure out what to give her for a graduation present, but when she mentioned that she wanted fish, I came up with an idea - a fishtank. I asked her if she wanted my five-gallon MiniBow set-up, or if she wanted a different one. She said the MiniBow would be fine. So I gave her the tank, gravel, a decoration, the filter, and advice. Last week, I gave her my Betta 
She named him Rodgin. He was a little shy the first few days, and for awhile she thought he was sick. I think he was just adjusting and that part of it was the water temp fluctuating (I've since told her to put the heater in, but that wasn't working, so I told her to get a new heater so Rodgin could keep his "little fishy self warm"). He's perked up now and has gotten used to Annie (my sister). She just loves him! 
She said she loves watching him and that he comes up to the tank edge sometimes when she goes over there and/or talks to him. Rodgin's tank has some anacharus in it and I told Annie she could get him more live plants, as Bettas like to sit on the leaves 
She also has a tank decoration that's an arch, and she said Rodgin loves to hide in there. She's getting hooked...(uh, no pun intended) The other day she told me that she wants to get some buddies for Rodgin. I grinned - she wants more fish I suggested she get a couple of Corys - my suggestions was for Pandas, 'cause I like 'em so much. So, I think she's going to go get a couple of Corys so Rodgin has some company (and so she can have more fish 
). She's also getting Rodgin a new heater so that he can stay warm at night when his light is turned off.
That's it...she's going to have MTS before too long... Bwahahahaha I'm excited that my sister now has a fish, likes him, and wants more! 
I haven't yet been able to convince to come join TFF though 
I'm still working on that one.
