i did alot of research and i got my first plant for my 10 gall ...Hygrophila Polysperma

that was 2 weeks ago

now i read that its a fast grower , but in the plant is barely growing at all!! its supposed to be one of the hardies plants on the market!

here are my conditions ....maybe you could help me out

10 gallon

15 watt light

15 g filter

laterite and iron slag(black gravel) for the gravel

no co2

no carbon in filter

with liquid fert.

tank is mature

the plant is growing very very slow and the old leaves are rotting at the corners ...the new leaves are yellowish but then they turn green when they mature...the leaves are growing very close to each other (stem is short between leaves)

i need to fix this problem bf i get an algea bloom

im also growing another Hygrophila plant and its growth is also very slow but it seems to be holding up(leaves arent dieing)

other plants- anubias. and chian sword (very new)

fish -5 cardinals 1 -otto

thank you sooo much the people who can help

I think the lighting is the problem. But yoyr water could also have a very high pH.
