hey everyone!

i have a small 13 gal in my room which is a small community tank. but end of the week im getting a new 50-55 us gal for downstairs.

i really need some ideas on how to stock it, i keep getting ideas but then scrapping them.

i would of liked, 3 angels and 3 clown loaches, 4-6 zebra danios and 4 otto's.

i know the angels and clowns grow big but i would of upgraded the tank again in a year or so.

but now im thinking of a nice community tank, with denios, guppys, tetras, otto's,maybe barbs.

i really cant decide, Please help me :D :p

the tank size is : 49" x 17" x 17"

Cheers.

Hello- I personally don't have any experience with angels, but have heard that they do better in tall tanks rather than longs. Clown loaches are fine for a 55 gallon, as when they reach aroung 4 inches they grow quit slowly from there on.

You could always do peaceful community fish, such as a school of danios and a school of tetras. IME barbs are kinda aggresive and will most definately nip at guppies and danios fins. You could do guppies but be prepared for babies. I personally like mollies and platties. But then again you have the problem with fry over taking your tank. If you dont mind the fry then your combination minus the barbs would work. Or if your dead set on the barbs, then maybe a couple schools of different kinds.

I just got a 55 gallon this weekend and its completely AWESOME!!!! you will definately love your new tank!

Good luck with whatever you decide on! :D

for a 55 gallon tank..i would have...

3upside down cats
8 neons
3 gupies
4 platties
5 ghost shrimps
6 cories
6 white cloud minnows
6 zebra danios

I would use Pearl Gouramis, Kuhli Loaches, Oticinclus, Corydoras, Serpae tetras, Platys or swordtails, maybe a pair of Rams.

HActually I just described my dream tank ...except there is no Zebra Pleco SO add one of those too! :p

Get 3 clown loaches. When I get a bigger tank mine are the only fish that are going in it for sure. My dream tank has a bunch of clown loaches, silver sharks, and a large variety of Barbs and dwarf cichlids.
