How/when do I clean a filter filled with pot scrubbies?

I have a Fluval 407 mostly filled with pot scrubbies (along with the little bit of ceramics that Fluval shipped with the thing). The tank has been set up for about 6 months now. Do I ever clean the scrubbies? Do I exchange some of them, but not all of them, with new ones? Do I take them out and rinse them, and put them back in? Do I do it now, or in six months, or basically never do it?

I use pot scrubbies too lol just squeeze them out and rinse them in old tank water every 2 weeks, only replace them if theyre falling apart and only do one at a time to replace if you need to. They make great coarse filtration
