how do i get live blackworms to the bottom of the tank so my corys can eat? my bettas eat everything before it even touches the bottom and it seems like my corys arent even getting anything. i tried injecting the worms into the sand(pipet jams like crazy when i do it), but my damnass bettas still get to them first. im pretty sure this is really unhealthy for the betta as well as the corys because the betta dont stop eating. any ideas?

Well, I gave up and removed my betta from other fishes' company, myself. I simply could not find an answer, and he always overfed. He even ate algae tablets until he looked like he swallowed a marble. My guy is now with ADFs, who get 'hand' fed with chopsticks.

I suppose, "give up" isn't what you wanted to hear, eh? :/

Wait until you go to bed, turn off the lights, then feed the corys.

Tell me if that works, my betta always overate no matter what conditions I fed the tank in (I think he tracked by smell), but if that works, maybe my new betta might have a shot at tankmates in the future. :)

how big is your tank?
feed in different places at the same time?

feed the betta then net him while you feed the corys

How big is the tank that you had the betta/cory combination in?

feed the betta then net him while you feed the corys
How stressed do you want your fish to be???

Feeding in several areas at a time is probably the best bet

Aha here's a better suggestion even if I do say so myself!

Use an opaque tube with the bottom end on the substrate next to your corys and drop food through the top, no one else sees the food and it appears right in front of the desired diners ;)

its a 10 gallon with 3 fbetta and 3 corys, i think my betta ate my ghost shrimp so i cant count them anymore :( where do you get the pipe from? i was thinking of a pvc pipe, but sch 40 is all i got. its kinda dirty and thick, so itll be kinda harder to move around from the opening in the hood. im pretty sure feeding them at night wont work because when i pass by my tank when its really dark, i can still see movement coming towards me, so im guessing the betta can see at night. i kinda thought injecting it like 1/4 inch beneath the sand will work because my corys dig their faces into the sand, but i cant find an easy way to do it.

i thjink the pipe would work, just take off the lid when feeding and you get a nice shot all around the tank!

Alternatively you could just put the food in a net and lower it to the bottom then tip it out.

By the way - to the unintiated this thread has a very worrying title;

"How To Get Food To Bottom, betta eat all of it "
