Hey guys my normal method to do water changes is to put water in a container, dechlorinate it and leave it 12 hours before I use it. I heard people do another method which is put chlorine water in and dechlorinate in the tank. Is this method safe and can I use this method for big water changes?
Thank you

There is no need to wait 12 hours, if you use a liquid dechlorinator.

If you have a big tank, I suggest using 5 gallon bucket. Fill the buckets with tap water, and then add the dechlorinator. (Dose what it says on the back. It will give you have measurement (ex. ml) to gallons)

Edit: I suggest swirling the water around in the bucket, once you put the dechlorinator in there. This helps it get absorbed in the water better.

Agree. Dechlorinators work instantly. You can either add it to a bucket of water then add the water to the tank, or if you are using a Python you can add it to the tank just before the fresh water goes in which here will be directly from the tap obviously. And only use the amount required for the volume of fresh water.
