You can adjust the flow rate on your fluval by lifting the paddle slightly until desired flow is achieved. This is located above the clamp where the hoses attach to the moter head. Long term use in restriced flow will cause additional wear and tear to the moter though so bear that in mind.
you could always consider using a spray bar instead on the outflow to ditribute the flow across the whole tank.
