Quick (stupid ) question, I'm just filling up my first tank (110L) - how far from the top should the waterline sit? There's no mention of it in the manual that came with the tank.

I'm guessing an inch and half from the top of the tank?

Any advice is much appreciated!

i like to fill my tank all the way because my filter causes an annoying dripping noise. its also a good idea to because that means it will take longer for water to evaporate.

It's really a personal thing. Right to the top is normally best, but if you have apple snails, they need to be able to get out of the water, so the level needs to be low enough for that.

When I said "right to the top", I actually meant "above the level of the trim"; that's what it's there for, to hide the water level.

i can imagine the OP standing there pouring in water going, 'really? This close to the top?' lol

Haha, thanks!

All filled up now - silly question I know!

The trim isn't that far off the top of the tank what was the main reason for asking!
