Hi im setting up my new tank its 72"L x 24"W x 30"D. I have 4 x 46" arcadia 14k marine white bulbs running on it with reflectors but the edges of the tank still seem quite dim. Is this something i need to rectify or will it be ok? Im going to set up my C02 kit tomorrow and will start planting in the next few days and am just wondering if i need to change my set up.

There is one bulb at the very back that you cant see.

Could you move two pairs of bulbs to each side of the tank?

Or will the wires not allow?

On the other hand the scape you have looks great and will look good when the plants are in!
I also like that spider man bag!

It can be done but not easily.

Is there a longer bulb out there? A couple of 60" ones would do the trick!

Im pretty sure 48" ish is the biggest, you need to put them at different intervals along the length for the best results

Im not too sure on this but 14k might enduce some algae

Really? I'm not that knowledgeable about my lights! What's the reason?

As i said im not sure, but its ringing a bell somewhat

I have no doubt you've read it somewhere but it will just be un-proved, mis-associated chinese whispers passed down throughout the last 50-60years.
For example a quick search brought me to an american site that contains wrong information the majority of the time, especially aquatic plants.

However, lamps with a low K rating tend to promote algae growth, resulting in more aquarium maintenance.

Again, there's no proof.
