I understand this is a very lose ended question. Ive mainly been a freshwater guy. i had one experience with a 55 gal SW tank about 8 years ago and it didnt go well.

Well ive been playing with the idea of starting one up again.

Im looking for some prices and maybe some knowledge.

Im looking at a 35 gal that is currently set up for fresswater.

I understand that i need to get livesand and nutri seawater.
So i figure atleast $250.00 just in the start up.

But what about the maintenance? everytime i do a partial do i have to fill it back up with nutri seawater?
Are the partial done once a week like freshwater?
what are some of the other cost of running and maintaining?

I do not intended to do live coral.

Have a look here if you haven't already:

I'm not familiar with "nutri" seawater...a brand I presume? You can mix your own saltwater from a salt mix and freshwater or buy it ready-made.

It depends on the particular tank and how heavily it's stocked and filtered, but usually yes, somewhere between 10-25% weekly.

You'll have to estimate these yourself based on your intended stocking and equipment. Recurring costs will include water and anything used to make it, food, chemical media for filters, bulbs if using a fluorescent fixture, etc.
