How Many Sparkling Gourami's In A 10 Gallon Tank?

Planning a biotope tank similar to this:

In a 10 gallon tank, to be stocked with a group of sparkling gourami's. 
 
What do you think is an appropriate number?

personally, i would not put more than 4

Sparkling gouramis are very small though, and will have a fairly light bioload. I think you'd be fine with 6 or 8.

I've read that they can get pretty territorial. Maybe I'll go with five.

You could have a slightly larger group, wait until two pairs form then rehome all but the four. Make two clear territories at opposite ends of the tank and lots of plants for fry and you should be golden.
