Roughly how many babys to a female have that survive? Based on a common number, and would putting the babys in empty jam jars and things be ok for them? Otherwise, what kind of jars do you mean?
A LOT of people ask this question the search option is always handy.
Any female can have from 20-500 babies! It depends on the females eggyness and nest care of the Dad. I had 350 survive the first 4 weeks, even as an amateur, so expect at least 100. Jam jars can work, but you'll be cleaning them about every other day. 1.5 gallon stackable tupperware costs about $1.50 each and only needs weekly cleaning, which is what I use.
it is a lot of money - this isn't a cheap endeavor...however with that being said remember only the males and nippy females need to be jarred as long as you have a big enough grow out for the females.
