What fish are In there ?

Bae

Bae means what kind of fish, not how many are there.

I'm moving this to our inverts/amphibs section for better answers :good:

Seems we are trying to get blood from a stone...

What fish species are in the tank already?

It's simple really, we are trying to see if frogs are suitable for this setup, you might already be overstocked and/or have fish that will heavily outcompete frogs for food... Or even consider the frogs as food!

It's really not as simple as that there's a big difference between 17 tetras and 10 tetras 7 angelfish (examples obv)

so what species as above

Until we know WHAT SPECIES OF FISH AND HOW MANY OF EACH SPECIES, we cannot tell you how many frogs can go in with your stock.

Different fish will mean different results.

Although to be honest, MOST fish should not be tank mates with ADF

The bolding and all caps and gigantic letters is a bit much, don't you think?

As for the original question....

It is best with ADF's to keep them in a species only tank. They have special food requirements, water depth requirements, and water parameters that are often not compatible with most species of fish. They also like the water quite a bit cooler.

Your best bet will be to set up another small tank, 5 gallons minimum, and keep the frogs in there. You can keep 3 ADF's comfortably in a 5 gallon tank and they will do much better without all the fish harassing them.

As for why we asked for the species of the fish you have in the tank....

Different types of fish have different behaviors that are specific to them. Some fish, such as tetras, tend to be more nippy or aggressive than other fish, which means they'd eat the ADF's foot webbing or chase it until it died. Some fish, gourami and ciclids for example tend to be larger and more prone to eating smaller animals, like ADF's. Loaches and other bottom dwellers tend to eat all of the food before the ADF's can get to the food and then they starve to death.

Not all fish are alike and so the species of fish is a very important thing to know when we advice-givers are trying to answer your questions.

Hope this helps you to understand why we asked about the species.
