not sure if this is the right forum and as its co2 for the plants im guessing its the correct part of the forum.

I got an 180 lite tank with a Fire Extinguisher 2KG, how long would I expect that to last?

Also is it worth getting them refilled or just buying a new one, I paid around £26 for it new, anyone know the going rate to refill in the UK?

at an average BPS of 1-2 you're gonna be looking around 6 months ish, give or take a few weeks. To get it filled you're gonna be looking at anywhere from a £7-£12, it just depends on how friendly you are with the local gas fillers.

Wow that really is cheaper than dosing liquid!! What kind of price are you looking at for setting up a FE setup?

full setup cost me £110 for all parts including delivery, all sourced from ebay. you might get cheaper if you put the time in and searched about but I just went for it

thanks, will look around locally. at that rate I probably got around 3 months left. Might end up just buying new ones at least I dont have to leave the house :look: .

Thanks Dan. :)

heres the list of stuff and prices I got with ebay auction numbers. this is where i got my stuff from.

2kg FE : £30.40
Regulator/Soleniod £55.50
co2 tubing 3m £3.20
co2 atmoizer/duffuser £7.99
bubble counter £4.50

the regualtor/solenoid dont come with a uk plug but its easy to rewire or you can get an adaptor from argos for around £6, I was cheap and fitted a plug :hey:

As I say, if you look around im sure you could finder it a little cheaper, The FE is new but there are refurbished ones on ebay that work out about £8 cheaper. The stuff from hong kong came in aboiut 6 days, the FE was delivered next day, all prices quoted include delivery. It was really east to put together. just follow the guide on the DIY section of this forum and its a breeze.

dont forget a needle valve.

I went with this regulator and valve as i believe they are better quality.

source your FE from a local fire safetly company. You have to trade them in for for full ones when empty, many places dont refill due to H&S
