How long will a betta live?

I was wondering how long my betta will live. I bought him almost a year ago, and he was a babie. So it said (aqua baby).


Just wondering if anyone can help me out.
Also, I just recently put 2 zebra danions into our 20 gallon tank. If I put my betta in there what will happen. He is pretty aggressive. But is there any way that he can survive or vise versa?

Betta fish live an average of 3 years, and can live up to 5 years. However when you buy the ones in the stores they are usually almost a year old explaining the big fins. So lets say that your betta is middleaged
