About two weeks ago i found 2 lone baby black mollies in my tank. I think the rest got eaten. :( Do the baby lyretails get the lyre shaped tail later on or are they born with it in that shape? She was in with a regular male molly for a while so they might be regular. Also about how long till i can find the sex.

i dunno, in most livebeaers u can tell after their about a week old. my newest batch of gups are going to be 1 week tumarrow and i can alredy tell by looking at their anal fins. i think this should work for mollys 2 but i could b wrong :X

not all lyretail fry will develop the lyretail. i have fry to prove that. they'll start to be visible lyretail after about 4 weeks or so. and most likely, most of your fry will be females. has something to do with conditions whether you'll get males or not. i've had one male fry from my many batches of lyretail fry................

I have 7 two-month old black mollies and 13 one-month old mollies. All 20 of them appear to be female. I think it is still too early to tell.

I heard of cases where someone thinks she's buying a female molly, when a month later it turns out to be a male.

And as for lyretails... I have no idea.

i've got about 30 4-month old molly fry and they all appear to be female too... nothing against female, but i was going to keep a male or two and give the rest away, but i guess that won't work
