The topic says it all really
but
I have angel fish, mollies, platties, guppies and a redtail
shark. How do you tell the sex of them ?

Check Williams reply to my topic of bullying for sexing Platies.

Females have a full fin at the "backside", males have a "gonopodium" - I read this in a book !, in place of this fin, a tubular like thing.....used in reproduction.....

Angels are hard to sex, many people go on about their fins etc. but thats not an exact science. You'll need to wait until there a lot older, the main will start to grow a bump above the head.

Red tails are difficult to tell, the female is normally bigger.

Platies and guppies (and I presume mollys) are easy to sex because the males as brian says have a gonopidum basically,

"You can tell the sex of platies by their back fin on their bellies. If it is a triangle then the fish is a female and if it is a long thing spike that points backwards it is a male."

My simple guide for guppies and platies. I have not kept mollies and don't know if they are the same but I would be willing to take a guess that they might.
