As simple as my title, i have added an organic dirt layer ( good combination of nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium), over that layer of petco black sand and then Caribsea eco complete.. my substrate over all looks like at least 2.5 inches thickness in my 10 gallon tank.

I got two bunches of ludwigia and planted a bunch initially couple of stems are too soft and i have to trim them before adding to tank. Later i read some where its always a good idea to plant these guys as single stems and they will propagate well. Also few stems are running over my aquarium height and planning to trim at the root. I havent changed water after adding ludwigia and they randomly comes out of substrate and i keep replanting them ( by hand) . I am making sure i do plant them bit deep, but still this is the case..

Any advise if i can i get aquascape tweezers will it help planting them properly..

Note : Also my Honey Gourami is quite a culprit and always digging up ludwigia stems .. added newly to the tank and it seems every food i add its just spitting out and eating plants.. :)

You can always use a couple of long cable ties on the base of the Ludwigia the cable tie when put under the substrate will act as roots.

Thank you very much, will this work even if plant each stem separately . pardon me asking one more question, if i cut stem into half and plant like this will they survive.

Yep you can plant them individually. And cut them in half, if you leave the stems floating they will produce leaves as well which you can then plant

i only have one more stem of ludwiga before its extinct. how do you reccommend i save him?

Float it on the surface of the tank. Ludwigia naturally wants to grow out of the water. It is only semi aquatic.
it was like that for a long time....
or should i put it in my mini ecosystem with my ramshorn snail

Do that if you like, remember that Ludwigia also doesn't like really warm water. And enjoys a period of cooler temperatures. I used to move it between my Discus tank and my whiptail catfish tank. At the moment it is growing outside in a pond and is doing just fine but has a lot of terrestrial branches on it.
