How can we prevent introduction of parasites and other diseases when adding new plants?

I don't know the best way. Some say bleach, some say hydrogen peroxide, and l also was told that
POTASSIUM PERMANGANATE SOLUTION would be good. Sorry about the font change. I had a hydra bloom and I kinda freaked out. But that is under control now. I'm getting a very special fish delivered soon and I had to start the tank over from scratch last weekend.
