What is the best to go about grow hornwort? I`ve read that some people plant it direct into substrate and some tie it to wood or rock.
What is the best/recommended way? My substrate is gravel.

I have had good results from growing it in the substrate. It grows more or less as you watch it!!!

Mine always ends up floating round the tank and I have a gravel sand mix, grows #41#### fast tho, mines only in there to stop the algae growth tho. One of those plants you have to try hard to kill it lol.

Thanks for the replies. I have planted all into the substrate, 1 has come out and started to float around. So this 1 I wrapped around my external filters intake pipe close to the top of the water so if any fry do happen it will make a little cover for it.

Thanks, Min.

Just in a matter of days now and my hornwort is to the top of my tank. How and where is the best way to cut it down? Can I replant the cuttings?

Where ever you like and yes :) it just grows and grows, quite hard to kill really, I have some that split from the substrate up and looks like theres no end to it but just cut it down and re plant so the leaves are facing upwards.
