Hornwort Going Brown - Looks Like Algae

My hornwort seems to have a brown fluffy layer over it. Might be brown algae but it is meant to combat algae It has 1.1wpg of light at the moment but soon will be at around 2 wpg, anyone got an idea on what it is?

Sounds like diatoms- esp it it comes off easily. More light will help.

Hmmm.. all my hygro polysperma, bacopa monnieri and E. tennulus was ok with exactly the same amount of light
