I don't worry about stocking levels. All my gourami are fine alone so this preset that they get stressed n lonely is all relative to the tank situations. I have seen many bare tanks with little of interest to me so dare say the poor fish ! As for keeping 1 male to 2 female etc, try doing that with angels, never mind any other species.
Good luck with sexing fish n I will read that report with interest as iv already asked the best. Example, a female platty, definitely a female by all,,,,,, is now a definite male !!!
Whatever works for you, just keep them interested and eager. Iv seen too many tanks with fish that look bored out their minds.

I have been attempting to get to electric blue Rams blue frost Rams or black Rams you will not find them in your local box stores but every time I go to my LFS the shipment always has issues with diseases ie ick ECT. Still waiting for a good shipment

I believe it is fairly easy by the tail shape females have a round or dorsal Finn and males come to a point.
