Honey Gourami ?

Now i know very little about Gourami's but i have a male honey that bubblenest very regularly (thinking same as betters and its a good sign that he's happy healthy etc)

is there any chance he could be lonely? i would love to get him a lady friend of two but my LFS only stocks dwarfs, am i right in thinking these are different species?

Yeah they are different. He'd prob love a couple of females (I'd say don't get less than 2) but he'd prob also be ok on his own. Do you have any other LFS you could look in? Or order online?

only one really without travelling (i can't drive) and then it would only be p@h, there was one in the tank that was different, smaller than the other girls and had an orange tinge, is that a female honey?

I find them quite hard to sex. The females have a more rounded top fin than the males and the natural females also have a horizontal brown stripe.

I'll wait a while anyway see how he gets on with his new tank mates (bettas, so far so good) i have a spare tank if needed
