Concerning fish feeding while away, i came up a fool proof holiday fish feeding solution (a neighbour has been feeding a lot of my fish now for 4months)...
You get these things for people who have to take medication on a regular twice daily basis. The compartments in the dispensers are labelled monday-sunday with morning & night compartments on each day. Except instead of putting pills i them i measured out precise quantities & types of fish food in each compartment. My old next door neighbour is looking after 3 of my fish tanks, so i labelled the tanks 1, 2 & 3 and labelled the 3 dispensers 1, 2 & 3 so she knows what food in which tanks.
I then hid the rest of the fish food so she can't be tempted to feed the fish extra food (but i did buy some emergency pill dispensers & filled them with fish food in case i can't make it down a certain weekend, what with the snowy weather we're experiencing an all etc).
I come back at the weekends to do waterchanges and put new food in the pill dispensers- my neighbour has been feeding my fish now for 4 months with absolutely no fish feeding issues whatsoever!
So if you have a trustworthy family member, friend or neighbour etc who can feed your fish once or twice daily while you are away, this is totally what i would recommend for holiday fish feeding. IMO much better than leaving it to your non-fish experienced friends to guess-measure out food for your fish or to using automatic fish feeders (which can sometimes jam and not feed your fish for days on end or dump all food in one go etc)
As to the fish camera monitering, i kinda agree with fishnovice. Enjoy your holiday
v ! If your fish are healthy and the tank has not suffered any issues the past few months, the fish are not all going to start dropping dead as soon as you go away for a week or so. How long are you going away on holiday for
