Holiday - feeding?

Can someone help, im going on holiday and i have nobody to feed my fish while im away for 2 weeks. Does anyone know how i can solve this cos im frightened my fish will die, and wot about the light? can i keep that off for 2 weeks? will they be ok?

You'll want two items. The first item is a timer for your light. You can get these at a store like Wal-Mart or K-Mart. You will need to pay about $10 for these. Then you can get an autofeeder from many local fish stores. It will automatically dispense flake food for you at an interval of your choosing. you can find these for vaious prices. I think you can generally get one for about $30. Your only other choice would be to get someone to feed your fish for you.

Since you are going away and won't be able to monitor the tank, get them fed much less. If you have somebody coming in to help, have them come in every 3 days or so instead. If you go with the auto feeder, also set it to feed less then you normally would. I would just have somebody come in once after a week for a light feeding.

normally fish would be ok with no food for 2 weeks... but if u wanna be on the safe side stick to the plan
